Designed in 1981 by architect Souto Moura, the Casa das Artes was built between 1988 and 1991 in the gardens of Allen's home and awarded the Secil Prize.
The building is the first work of great renown architect Eduardo Souto Moura. A silent and discreet work, rich in references to modern masters and tradition of forms and local materials, is almost invisible next to the work of Marques da Silva (1869-1947) and builds one of the garden singular limits.
