In these days, the construction site is set up, so public visits to the monument are closed and will remain until the end of the global intervention.

The preservation and restoration of the Coro Baixo's artistic filling integrates the altarpieces, sculptures and ceiling in coffins; while in Coro Alto it integrates the chair, paintings and integrated sculptures, tile coating and polychrome ceiling.

With a total investment of 2 Million Euros, this Operation aims at actions of valorization and promotion of this important National Monument, classified since 1910, being the intervention reimbursed in 85% by Operational Program North 2020 and European Fund of Regional Development, with Patronage of Brotherhood of Clerics and Millennium BCP Foundation.
 
The conservation and restoration intervention intends to continue the first phase of work that took place between 2014-2015, within the framework of an application submitted by the DRCN to the Cultural Heritage measure of the ON2 / QREN and which consisted generally in the execution of an anti termite barrier, perimetral drainage, placement of new ceramic coating on the roofs and rehabilitation / execution of some spans.
 
The objective, in this second phase, is to carry out preservation and restoration of the church's artistic filling and annexes: sacristy, choir and concierge, based on criteria of historical, scientific and technical rigor, carried out by specialists in the different areas of intervention: carving, sculpture, tile, mural painting, easel painting, stone and metal.
 
It is also intended, and in the scope of specialized works, the intervention in the portals worked in granite and the restoration of the great organ of tubes of the nave of the church.
 
The church of Santa Clara is a remarkable artistic legacy integrating its architecture carving, sculpture, tile, mural painting, easel paintings and musical heritage and possessing high tourist interest.
 
In addition to the physical intervention, this operation is intended to protect, enhance and promote a unique heritage of high value and unique character through cultural programming initiatives that take place within the framework of the network of monuments under the management of the Regional Directorate for Culture of the North.
